About The Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Front-End Developer to lead the development of cutting-edge and data-intensive web applications. In this role, you will work closely with our Insights & Strategy team, Engineering leadership, and backend engineers to build intuitive, performant, and scalable front-end systems to unleash productivity across the organization.
This role spans four key areas:
1) Technical Execution
Architect and implement front-end solutions using React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
Ensure web applications are optimized for performance, accessibility, and responsiveness.
Maintain clean, reusable code and establish best practices for front-end development.
2) Collaboration
Work closely with cross-functional teams to translate design mockups and user stories into high-quality features.
Partner with backend developers to define APIs and ensure seamless integration.
3) Innovation
Stay up-to-date with the latest front-end technologies and frameworks, ensuring Langston remains on the cutting edge.
Contribute to improving our design system and internal tooling for efficient development.
4) Ownership
Langston is a small company, and you will have the opportunity to build & own large parts of our codebase.
Conduct code reviews and promote technical excellence across the team.
Your Experience and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be an experienced front-end engineer who thrives on delivering impactful user experiences and meets the following qualifications:
5+ years of professional front-end development experience.
Expertise in React, TypeScript, and related technologies.
Great to have experience with Next.js, Tailwind, Shadcn/ui, Formik or react-hook-forms
Strong understanding of modern web performance, accessibility, and responsive design.
Experience working closely with and collaborating with the API/backend team to plan, design, and implement new endpoints & features.
Comfortable with data structures & complex user interfaces
Experience with testing frameworks like Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright, and/or Cypress.
Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
A keen eye for design details and user experience.
Ability to work with non-technical team members to translate high-level product requirements or designs into new features.

Salary Range: $125,000 - $140,000 (based on experience) and discretionary bonus.
